RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., Aug. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Eric Richmond, Director of ERP at Modine Manufacturing Company MOD (NYSE), puts best practices for ERP integrations into perspective during his exclusive interview on JAGGAER's InsideSpend webinar series. Modine Manufacturing is a global thermal management company.
Richmond provides insights into a common issue in manufacturing: how to manage a spend management integration into an existing ERP system; a task that is typically viewed as daunting, time consuming and resource draining. In Modine’s case the challenge was to integrate with SAP.
“Ordinarily an integration is a nightmare involving a lot of flat file exchange. JAGGAER offered us a complete integration concept that required no software development on our end. We didn’t have to write a single line of code. It was completed in a matter of days, and our users were completely unaware that we had made any changes. It was all done in the background,” observes Richmond.
Richmond details the process of managing the integration including criteria for understanding what is needed from a vendor, how to assess a current ERP system for integration scope, and standardizing data. He also discusses integration of multiple SAP systems, managing middleware routing, determining what materials to integrate, and moving to real time vendor management, including document exchanges and synchronization.
“It’s was important that we selected a vendor that understands our verticals of manufacturing and automotive. Now we are discussing JAGGAER’s future roadmap, and expanding the relationship to extract even more value from existing ERP systems. These include quality management, scorecarding, business intelligence, spend analytics and the industry 4.0 initiatives that we are exploring,” he adds.
